State of the art analysis, Jonathan Söderin

I've chosen to analyse a system that isn't super common but exists on certain museums. It is more or less a recorded guide and it is used via a controller that resembles a telephone. All visitors get one of these controllers at the start of their visit and some simple instructions about how it works. All objects of the exhibition have unique numbers that you may enter into the controller and then listen to the recorded guide as it tells you more about said object. You listen to the guide by holding it against your ear like a phone.

What worked well:
- People don't have to move in group like when they have a person as their guide
- You may to the parts you find interesting and may skip the parts you find boring
- You can easily go back and listen again if you want
- You can choose the pace you move through the exhibition

What worked badly:
- Maintenance of the devices can be demanding
- Can be difficult for children to use
- Can easily be stolen
