Seminarium 2

Chapter 6
After one has done the research it is time to creating concepts. What is important to have in mind when it comes to making concepts is following: quantity > quality. One should strive for as many concepts as possible in the shortest time possible. This can be done by brainstorming. To get out the most of brainstorming there are some rules:
  • Should never be done digitally
  • short
  • There are no bad ideas
  • don not spend a lot of time on one idea
  • no multitasking

In our group we used some of the structured brainstorming methods that was mentioned. For example Pain point and Personas. In our group we did not brainstorm that much, cause we came up with 3 concepts quickly. So instead we had diskussions and a lot of ideas that could be implemented. I think we had the whole “there are no bad ideas” were truly accepted in our group, no one is afraid of putting an idea out there.

Chapter 7 and 8
We have not really come to the stages that these chapters are about. We are at the beginning of these and have come to a decision that we want a very minimalistic and timeless design. That will be very straight forward in its use. And we also wanted it do be so simple, because it should not draw focus from the exhibition itself. Something we should take in consideration is de affordances, it should be very simple to interact with the object. Something we have kind of taken in to consideration is the “magical number seven”, that it should not be more than 7 items on the screen. We have not said it clearly, but that is one of our goal. To keep it as simple as possible.

When it comes to the prototype we have actually decided which prototype tool we will use and we have also tested it a little. I think we first should talk about what personality we want our product to have. Then we should continue doing a low-fidelity prototype on paper with post it and so, and then go on to the high-fidelity prototype.

Question: When we create the prototype, should we create several prototypes for different scenarios in the museum?
